About this property

Mountain Retreat - 'Like A Giant Tree House' - 3 Bed, 2 Bath, Hot Tub, Fire Pit

We say it 'feels like a giant tree house' because of its open indoor / outdoor living style on a private one acre lot, in a beautiful setting, surrounded by huge trees featuring great seasonal mountain views. Although it feels secluded, we are conveniently located in the heart of one of Maggie Valley's original mountain neighborhoods and within minutes to everything.

This listing is for the entire house, sleeps up to 8 people (note add'l per person charge over 6 people). Our house has been completely redecorated and updated with all conveniences. It features 3 bedrooms (2queen / 1 king), 2 full baths, plus a queen size sofa bed for extra guests, a fully equipped kitchen, 4 dining areas (indoor/outdoor), a gas fireplace in the living room, high speed WiFi internet, 3 large screen Roku TVs, a game room with breakfast/wet bar, plus 2 huge wrap around decks with hot tub, BBQ grill and southern style rockers with fire bowl. We also have a beautiful outdoor patio with wood burning chimnea fire pit and a hammock in the back yard.

We are dog friendly provided guests pay the pet fee and agree to the Pet Policy detailed in our Rental Agreement which states… all dogs must be pre-approved, friendly, well behaved, NOT allowed on the furniture, NEVER left alone indoors (unless crate trained) and ALWAYS accompanied on leash while outdoors. We allow up to two dogs and there is a one-time pet fee for each dog.

We say access is easy because there are no long steep inclines and the roads are state maintained and paved almost to our driveway. We have 2 large flat parking areas each capable of parking 2 normal size cars (motorcycles, trailers, RVs, campers or vehicles larger than a mini-van are not allowed). We are about half way up the mountain at 3500’ elevation. In winter we have salt barrels along the road but if there is ice or snow we say ‘if you can’t walk on it, don’t drive on it until it melts off’ which usually happens within a day so.

We believe our Treehouse Cabin is the perfect mountain getaway! Located in the heart of beautiful Maggie Valley we’re convenient to everything... Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cattaloochee Ski Area, waterfalls, downtown Waynesville, shopping, restaurants and about 30 minutes to Asheville, the Biltmore, Harrah's Casino and much more... like mountain streams, Lake Junaluska, great waterfalls, hiking trails and 19 of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi.

Great tim
The cabin was clean and cozy. It was in a great location to go to many surrounding attractions, even a trip to Dollywood. The hot tub was a great way to relax with our kids at the end of the day with great conversations with them. All the amenities to enjoy our stay whether we wanted to dine in or out. Highly recommend Joey’s Pancakes which is just a couple of minutes way. Definitely recommend - Gary (host) was great with communications if needed.

Charming Home
You really do have everything you need here. And it’s close to town if you’ve forgotten something. While we did have an issue with the hot tub and couldn’t use it until it reheated by 8:30 of our 2nd night, Gary was very on the ball, addressing it immediately. Plenty of space for 5 ladies, and we all loved the porch even though it was quite chilly. What a great backdrop for our girls trip!

Perfect space for a relaxing getaway!
I had an amazing experience staying at this cabin in the mountains of North Carolina through VRBO. The cozy atmosphere of the cabin made it the perfect space for a quiet family getaway. We absolutely loved the covered porch with the gas fire pit, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings even on chilly evenings. It was a memorable trip, and I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful mountain retreat.

Today we enjoy working with other local fine artists and photo enthusiasts who want to sell or display their own personal work.

Why they chose this property

We chose our 'Treehouse Cabin' because we wanted a vacation home in the mountains, in a beautiful location, that would be a great creative getaway. We think the Smoky Mountains, and particularly Maggie Valley, offer some of the most beautiful scenery and most pleasant places to visit in the entire country. The climate is great, not too hot, not too cold, the people are friendly and there are so many things to enjoy from scenic mountain drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, to hiking the Smoky Mountains, to fishing, waterfalls and of course photography and painting. Since we are not their full time we decided to share it with others who want a peaceful getaway in the mountains.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with our home because of the open indoor / outdoor feel of it... as soon as you walk in you feel like you're in giant tree house. The two wraparound decks feature a hot tub, southern style rockers, BBQ grill, hammock, porch swing and outdoor dining area. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, completely equipped kitchen, fireplace, laundry and game room. We're perfectly located, in the heart of Maggie Valley in of its original mountain neighborhoods... close to restaurants, bars, tourist attractions, shopping, golf, Lake Junaluska and much more.
